THE CONSORTIUM RECORDING STUDIO PROJECT

The Consortium is a unique two-floor creative production facility built for artists, producers, filmmakers, photographers, and creators who need more than just a recording room. Located in Philadelphia, The Consortium brings together the character and sonic depth of vintage analog recording with the flexibility and precision of modern production technology.

At the heart of the facility is a collection of exceptional vintage and modern equipment, including a 16-channel Rupert Neve Shelford console, classic Ampex tube equipment, Helios and Spectra Sonics processing, and a 1969 Ampex 8-track tape machine. The studio is designed to give artists the ability to choose their workflow—from completely modern digital production to a hands-on analog signal path and recording to tape. 

The centerpiece of The Consortium is its massive live room, offering the space and flexibility to accommodate full-scale music productions, large ensembles, tracking sessions, rehearsals, and creative projects that simply aren’t possible in a conventional studio environment. With the scale to function as both a recording space and a creative production environment, the room can transition easily from full-band recording to video production, photography, content creation, and other visual projects.

Spread across two floors, the facility provides room to develop an entire project under one roof. Music, audio, photography, video, and visual content can all live together within the same creative environment, making The Consortium particularly well suited for artists and production teams looking to build a complete body of work rather than simply record a song.
