Denise Barbarita is a three-time Grammy Award-winning NYC-based engineer, musician, songwriter, producer, and audio professional with more than 20 years of experience across music, film, and television.
As an engineer and producer, Denise has worked across an extraordinary range of genres, including hip-hop, rock, punk, jazz, classical, and theater. Her work spans album projects, music production, film scores, and audio post-production, collaborating with both independent artists and major industry clients.
Denise is the owner and head engineer of MONOLisa Studios, where she brings her extensive experience and creative perspective to every project. Her clients and collaborators have included Sony Masterworks, EMI, Koch Records, Nonesuch, Razor & Tie, KonceptVR, Movers & Shakers, the New York Film Academy, and the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA).
In addition to her work behind the console, Denise is an accomplished musician and songwriter. She has released four albums with her band, The Morning Papers, through her independent label and publishing company, MyShyTune Music.
Denise’s work in film and television encompasses music composition, sound design, Foley, ADR, and mixing. She has collaborated with producers and directors to create complete audio experiences for feature films, documentaries, and other visual media.
